Economic classes
Under this category applicants are selected on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada.
Express Entry is an online system that the federal government uses to select skilled workers based on their skills for some of the categories under this class.
Federal Skilled Workers
The Federal Skilled worker Program is for applicants who possess at least one year of full-time continuous or equivalent part-time employment experience and possess a high level of education that can be easily transferred to the Canadian labour market. The applicants must meet certain criteria in order to qualify for this category. The program uses a point system to assess candidates. The points (set at 67 points) for the FSW Program are a minimum requirement in order to be eligible for this category.
Points are assigned in accordance with six factors, such as education, language abilities, age, work experience, arranged employment in Canada and adaptability.
Federal Skilled Trades
The Federal Skilled Trade Program is for skilled tradespeople who want to immigrate to Canada. In order to qualify, applicants must have at least 2 years of work experience in a skilled trade in the last five years and meet certain minimum language requirements.
Applicants to the Federal Skilled Trade Program must make their application using the Express Entry immigration application system.
Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class permits foreign nationals who have been working in Canada for a period of at least one year to apply for Permanent Residence on the basis of their Canadian work experience. In order to qualify, applicants must have a minimum of one year of full-time work experience in Canada in the three years preceding the application, meet certain language requirements, and intent to settle outside Quebec.
Applicants who qualify for the Canadian Experience Class must create a candidate profile in Express Entry and receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence before submitting their application.
Self Employed Category
A self-employed person is a foreign national who has relevant experience and has the intention and ability to be self-employed in Canada and to make a significant contribution in Canada to one of the following:
- cultural activities
- athletics
Applicants must meet certain minimum requirements in order to qualify for application under this category.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is designed to enable provinces and territories to support the immigration of people who have expressed an interest in settling in their province or territory. There are wide variations in the programs for each provinces, for more details please contact us.
Atlantic Immigration Pilot programs caters the Atlantic high-skilled, intermediate-skilled and international graduate programs targeted to foreign nationals with job offers in the Atlantic region, who have received an endorsement by an Atlantic province and who meet minimum education, work experience and language proficiency requirements.
Start-up Business class
In order to apply under this catergory, applicants are required to have started a qualifying business (in terms of ownership and commitment received from either a designated angel investor group, a designated venture capital fund, or a designated business incubator).
